Underactuated Propulsion at AUVSI 2022

Vertiq’s motor modules can be used not only to enhance the performance of standard multirotor and fixed wing vehicles, but also to enable entirely new vehicles. Our Underactuated Propulsion system is a highly efficient, lightweight, and reliable propulsion system that can be scaled down to portable sizes. Vertiq’s patented single-hinge propeller design, combined with its motor pulsing control software, allows a motor and propeller to vector thrust. As a result, you can fly and steer a vehicle with just two motors and propellers, instead of the typical four. Using Vertiq’s Underactuated Propulsion system, a UAV manufacturer can significantly increase flight time and vehicle maneuverability, while minimizing cost and mechanical complexity.
